TashanTashan is a film by writer-director Vijay Krishna Acharya and stars Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. Despite all the hype, Tashan has received pretty bad reviews. Apparently there is no content in it. Honestly, after I heard the emphasis on "ishtyle" in their promotional stuff, I wasn't expecting much myself either. Seems like Yash Raj Films are committed to continue producing crappy films.

Lucky for us though, music of Tashan is composed by Vishal and Shekhar who are focussed on quality. There are a few of good songs, and there are a couple of songs for Sukhwinder fans. I hope you like the songs.

Sirf - Life looks greener on the other side (whew, talk about long movie names :D) is a film about four couples who each have something and missing another, such as money, love, trust, time, etc. It's about how they come together and hopefully solve their problem. Sirf is the return of Manisha Koirala who is paired with Kay Kay Menon. Other actors/actresses in major roles are Ranvir Shorey, Sonali Kulkarni, Parveen Dabaas, Rituparna Sengupta, Ankur Khanna, Nauheed Cyrusi. The film is directed by Rajaatsh Nayar and its music is by Sohail Sen and Shibani Kashyap. According to my taste, there's only one song in this album that's worth listening to, and that is Zindagi Ki Kahani. But that's just me.

Lovesongs - Yesterday,Today & TomorrowLovesongs is an English language film directed by Jayabrato Chatterjee. Jaya Bachchan plays the role of a widow who runs a NGO for the disabled. Her grandson who is a law student in Bangalore comes to Kolkata for vacation. His interest and questioning about her past brings back her memories of the past, her love life and all the emotions associated with them. Other casts of the film along with Jaya Bachchan are Om Puri, Mallika Sarabai, Rajit Kapoor and Neil Bhoopalam. The songs, which are composed by Usha Uthup, are also mostly in English. They are pretty slow. You can feel how sad and emotion-filled the film is going to be just by listening to these songs.

Jannat (2008)Jannat is a Bhatt production and its story surrounds sports betting and match fixing in cricket. Emraan Hashmi plays the role of a bookie who gets into this profession to get rich fast. It is Kunal Deshmukh's first film as a director. Apparently Kunal and Emraan have been studying real life bookie's to prepare for the role. Other actors in major roles includes 2005 Miss World Sonal Chauhan, Samir Kocchar and Javed Shaikh. Initially they wanted Esha Deol and then Kangna Renaut to do the lead female role but they couldn't due to tight schedule.

Music of Jannat is composed by Pritam. To be honest I haven't had a chance to listen to songs yet, so I don't really know how it is. Considering Pritam made pretty good music for the last three times he worked with the Bhatts , I'm hoping that this time around he does a good job again.

SuperstarSuperstar stars Kunal Khemu in a double role of Kunal and Karan who both dream of bocming great actors. Even though Kunal is the more persistent and determined of the two, it's Karan who comes from a rich family becomes the superstar which also changes Kunal's life as he is the superstar's lookalie. Other cast of the film includes Tulip Joshi, Shreyas Talpade, Reema Lagoo, Sharat Saxena, Vrajesh Hirjee, Darshan and Aman Verma. Superstar is directed by Rohit Jugraj.

Superstar has a few nice tracks, particularly the songs Ajnabi sung by Raaj. The songs are composed by Shamir Tandon. I heard from somewhere that there was song by Atif Aslam in the album too. Seems like that wasn't accurate. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the songs. Cheers.

BhramBhram is a film by Pavan S. Kaul and stars Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Simone Singh and Sheetal Menon. The movie's had mostly below average reviews. I don't know much about it though.

Anyway, music of Bhram is directed by Pritam and Siddharth Suhas. Listening to these songs literally gave me a headache. I don't know if the songs were completely at fault, as I had just returned from a very busy day when I decided to see how they were. The bottom line is that I didn't enjoy them the smallest bit. I've heard that sales wise Bhram's music did really great, which really proves that it wasn't the songs. I was me. I hope you are in a much better state when you are listening to them so you would know how they ACTUALLY are.

U, Me Aur HumU, Me Aur Hum marks Ajay Devgan's directorial debut which is also produced and written by him. He also stars in the film along with her wife Kajol, Karan Khanna, Isha Sharwani, Rituparna Sengupta, Sarika, Sumeet Raghavan and Divya Dutta. Wikipedia says it's Ajay and Kajol's seventh film together, but I can't remember which ones they are.

U, Me Aur Hum is about Ajay and Pia who meet on a cruiseship and despite Ajay's bad first impression in the form acting like fool while drunk they get married. But later Pia is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, the film show how they cope with the problems that come with the disease. I haven't seen the film yet, but from what I've read so far about it, it seems quite similar to the 2004 Korean film called A Moment to Remember. Now I'm not flaming Ajay for copying here, just saying they SEEM similar. I just hope that Ajay has made a good movie. Those of you who are into Korean films, watch A Moment to Remember. It's an amazing but sad film.

Music of U, Me Aur Hum is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Jee Le is an excellent song and the best of the album, followed by the title song. Use the iMeem player below to listen to them while you are downloading. If you have slow connection, I suggest you just download them. It will be much faster. Enjoy!

One Fine Monday is directed by Manu Chobe. It tells the story of a feared don who promised his dying father that he give up his life of crime. The 'fine monday' is the day when he's supposed to start a clean life, but things aren't all that simple for him as the Monday turns out to be a very trouble-filled day. Btw, it's a comedy film, so don't go watching it as serious gangster film. The lead cast of the film are Shekhar Suman, Tanaaz Currim, Gauri Karnik, Raj Zutshi, Himanshu Jhunjhunwala, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Rajesh Vivek. It's directed by Ashwani Dheer and stars Sunil Shetty, Tushar Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Upen Patel, Esha Deol, Sameera Reddy, Neetu Chandra, Sharat Saxena and Vrajesh Hirjee. The music composer who won the award for this film is Salil Choudhury. I personally like two of the songs a lot, Dil Tadap Tadap Ke and Suhana Safar Aur Yeh Mausam both sung by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar. There's something for Mohammad Rafi fans too. Enjoy!!

Here is another classic album for ya'll. Silsila is one of the most watched and most remembered Bollywood movies of all times. A really great movie and great music. It is directed by Yash Chopra and was surprisingly a flop when released. The star cast of Silsila includes Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri (now Jaya Bachchan), Shashi Kapoor, Rekha and Sanjeev Kumar.

Music of Silsila is composed by Shiv Hari. This is Shiv and Hari's first work together and they went on to create music for 6 more movies together (including Chandni ). Dekha Ek Khwab is one song that I've known for as long as I can remember and is one of my favourite. I'm sure a lot of you are going to like this album.

Dor is a movie by Nagesh Kukunoor and stars Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag and Shreyas Talpade. Bothe Ayesha and Gul won multiple awards for their performances in Dor. They portray a village girl from Rajistan who is bound to the customs and rules of her family and village, and a free spirited city girl whose lives entangle into each other's after an incident in Saudi Arabia involving their husbands. It really is a wonderfully crafted film that tells a very heart touching story.

Music of Dor is composed byt the Merchant brothers, Salim and Suleiman. This does seem like a popular album because so many people have requested for it. I hope you enjoy it.

With the release of Jodhaa Akbar around the corner, I thought we should revisit Mughal-E-Azam which was once the biggest film Bollywood had produced. I personally think it still is the biggest. Starring Dilip Kumar as Prince Salim, Madhubala as Anarkali and Prithviraj Kapoor in his biggest role ever as the Mughal emperor Akbar, it tells the love story of Prince Salim and Anarkali, a slave. It really is a must see film but you probably already know that.

Music of Mughale-E-Azam is by Naushad Ali who has composed some of the best songs of the Golden Era of Bollywood. The most notable songs of this album are Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya and Teri Mehfil Mein. You really need to watch the movie to appreciate the lyrics of these songs.

Virasat is a film I have watched quite a while back and is one of my favorite movies. Starring Anil Kapoor, Tabu, Pooja Batra and Amrish Puri, it's directed by Priyadarsan. I don't think I will judge it any differently if I watch it again now, even though my view of Hindi movies has changed a lot since then. Great story, wonderful cast and even better music. I think you will love this film whether you are a fan of Anil or Tabu.

The wonderful music of Virasat is composed by Anu Malik. My personal favorite songs have to be Dhol Bajne Laga and Payalay Chunmun. I hope these songs bring back some good memories for you as they do for me. Enjoy :)

It's finally here everyone. Music of Jodhaa Akbar is released and it is absolutely superb. A.R. Rehman definitely has picked his top tunes for this movie. The best songs have to be Jashn-E-Bahaara and Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah which have been the backbone of all the promo clips of the film.

Jodhaa Akbar is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and stars Hrithik Roshan as the Mughal Emperor Akbar and Aishwarya Rai as Jodhabai, the Rajput princess. It's tells the story of how Akbar married Jodhaa for political reasons but later fell in love with her. I can't wait to watch this film. It's set to release on 25 15 February. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is one of the most loved movies of 80's. It is directed by Mansoor Khan and stars Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Dalip Tahil, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath. If you call yourself an Aamir Khan or Juhi fan then you better have watched this film or you are not their fan at all. This film not only boosted the careers of Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan and catapulted them to stardom, but also marked the beginning of a whole new trend of film making in Bollywood. Read here why IndiaTimes says it is a must-watch movie.

Anand Milind, brothers and sons of the famous 60's music director Chitragupt, went on to win themselves a Filmfare Award for this film. Their music played a big part in the success of the film and there is a reason for it. Ae Mere Humsafar, Akele Hain To Kya Gum Hai and Papa Kehte Hain are timeless classics. You've got to love those songs. Check out a compilation of all the lyrics of QSQT with English translations at BollyWhat.

Sorry for taking so long to post Taare Zameen Par. I've been REALLY busy lately. As they say, better late than never. So here it is. Aamir Khan's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par stars himself in the lead role alongside Tanay Chheda, Tisca Chopra, Vibha Sharma, and Darsheel Safary. I'm sure a lot of you have been eagerly waiting for this. Aamir is also the producer of this film. We all know that he is a control freak when it comes to his movies and has had problems with his previous directors and producers. So this time he's taken control of everything to make sure the final product is exactly what he wants. I hope it pays off well.

Music of TZP is directed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Right now I'm listening to song 3 and there is nothing spectacular so far. It ain't that bad either. I'm sure I will like them more once I see the film. I hope you enjoy them more than I did.

Here is another one starring Aamir Khan, Rang De Basanti. I don't think I need to say much about what kind of film it is. It was showered with awards and nominations last year. Aamir's co-stars in Range De Basanti are Soha Ali Khan, Waheeda Rehman, Kiran Kher, Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Atul Kulkarni, Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, and Madhavan.

Music of RDB is directed by the incredible A.R. Rehman who has won our hearts so many times with his wonderful talent. That's exactly what he did with this album. This one has been requested countless times and here it is (finally). Enjoy!!

Welcome is a comedy movie directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, and Feroz Khan in major roles. It's about the marriage of Akshay and Katrina's characters and the opposition to that marriage by their families. One being from a strict and educated family while the is from a gangster family. Akshay's been hitting us with so many comedy movies lately. Who would think that Mr. Khiladi would one day be a funny man.

Music of is composed by Himesh Reshammiya and Anand Raj Anand. Thanks to Anand's participation, we only get to hear Himesh in one song. However, it's Anand who is singing 3 of the songs this time. Fortunately, his voice is not as annoying :)

Khoya Khoya Chand is a film by Sudhir Mishra set in the 1950s. It stars Shiny Ahuja, Soha Ali Khan, Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak and Dipanita Sharma. I think it's already released in India, so some of you might have already watched it.

Music id KKC is composed by Shantanu Moitra. I've listened to the first couple of songs, and they are pretty good. I hope you like them too. Enjoy!

Halla Bol is director Raj Kumar Santoshi's latest project. Starring Ajay Devgan, Vidya Balan, Pankaj Kapoor, and Sayali Bhagat, Halla Bol is a film about the struggles of an actor in the Indian film industry and what he faces at every stage of his career.

Music of HB is composed by Sukhwinder Singh. Muscially there's nothing new and out of the ordinary. The songs sound pretty familiar. However, I really find Sukhwinder Singh's voice very refreshing. It seems like he really is passionate about music and that is quite apparent in how sings. I have to say the best song of this album's got to be Jab Tak Hai Dum.

As the name says, Dus Kahaniyaan consists of 10 different stories of different people with different themes. These short stories are directed by six directors, i.e. Sanjay Gupta, Apoorva Lakhia, Meghna Gulzar, Hansal Mehta, Jasmeet Dhodi and Sudhir Mishra. The list of the cast for Dus Kahaniyaan is even longer. I'm not going to list every name here. Just know there definitely is one or more of your favorite actors in this film.

To keep the tradition alive, the producers have also hired more than one music directors for this film. They are Gourav Dasgupta, Anand Raj Anand, Bappi Lahiri and Shafqat Ali Khan. Once again there is something for everyone the following 3 sets of songs. For me the most interesting ones seem to be Gulzaar's poems. One of the reasons I've been hesitating to post DK's songs is that there are just too many. I could've posted three albums instead of it, but since so many people want it, I had to ignore that feeling. Anyway I hope you enjoy these songs.

So many of you have requested for Murder, so here it is. It's a film by Anuraag Basu and stars Mallika Sherawat, Emraan Hashmi and Ashmit Patel in lead roles. I haven't watched the film yet, but I have heard and read a lot about it. Most of the views have been positive, and mostly in Mallika's favor. She seems to have done a good job.

The wonderful songs of Murder are composed by Anu Malik. It's a really great album. I love Dil Ko Hazaar Baar and Bheegay Honth Tere the most. I'm sure you will love them.

Music of Showbiz is by Lalit Pandit. I hope you enjoy the songs.

What if one day went missing from your life?? That's the the tagline of Sunday. The answer to that question depends on who you ask. If you ask a lazy nobody like me who has spent days without doing anything meaningful, the answer would be 'So #$%&*@# what!!' But Bill Gates will have a different answer for you. Anyhow, Sunday is a film by Rohit Shetty and stars Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Ayesha Takia, Irfaan Khan and Anjana Sukhani.

The average, not-so-special songs of Sunday are composed by DJ Suketu and Shibani Kashyap. Enough said.

This is Aamir-season, so here is one more of him. Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowarikar's Lagaan started a whole new trend of film making in Bollywood that is focussed more on realism and art, than just plain mindless entertainment. This film has specially been a turning point for Aamir Khan, the result of which has been films like Rang De Basanti, Fanaa, and this year's latest and his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par. Lagaan also proved to be a significant point in the career of his co-star, Gracy Singh. She had only done minor roles in her two previous films, but Lagaan changed everything for her too. For being such an influent and great film with excellent performances and superb diection, Lagaan won 44 awards, including 8 at the Filmfare and a nomination for the Oscars.

The beautiful music of Lagaan is composed by the one and only A.R. Rehman with lyrics from Javed Akhtar. I'm seriously running out of praises for this movie. Every aspect of it is done extremely well. Enjoy the last couple of days of 2007 with these songs. I hope you all had a wonderful year, and wish you another wonderful one with full of happiness and surprises. God bless you all!

Madhuri Dixit is back! Aaja Nachle marks the return of our favorite Bollywood actress. Madhuri hasn't appeared in any movie since 2002 (Devdas and Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam) and she's back with a bang. At least makers of Aaja Nachle think so. The film's other leading casts include Ranvir Shorey, Irfaan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, Divya Dutta, and Vinay Pathak. The film is directed by Anil Mehta.

Music of Aaja Nachle is directed by the Merchant brothers, Salim and Sulaiman. I haven't had a listen to any of the songs yet. I'm hoping it's good, because Madhuri definitely deserves a comeback that's perfect from every aspect. I'm really looking forward to see more of her.

It's a film by Farhan Akhtar of Dil Chahta Hai and Don fame, starring Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Sharad Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Amrish Puri in major roles. Goal is a film by director Vivek Agnihotri. The leading cast of Goal includes Boman Irani, Bipasha Basu, John Abraham, and Arshad Warsi. It's a film about soccer. If you are a soccer fan, don't watch this film for to see some cool moves and stuff. The drama side of the film could be something watch though, if the Goal team have done their job well.

Saawariya is the latest venture by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starring Ranbir Kapoor , Sonam Kapoor , Rani Mukherjee and guest starring Salman Khan. The trailers seem visually great. Even though I didn't like Ranbir Kapoor girly acting, it seems pretty promising. Ranbir (Rishi Kapoor's son) and Sonam (Anil Kapoor's daughter) are very lucky to start their acting careers in such a big movie. Perhaps they should VERY thankful to their dads. Hope to see a lot of good movies from these two in the future.

Music of Saawariya is directed by Monty Sharma, and what a great job he has done. I very much like this album and I hope you do too. Enjoy!

No Smoking is the much talked about movie by Anurag Kashyap starring John Abraham, Ranvir Shorey, Ayesha Takia, Joy Fernandes, Paresh Rawal, Bipasha Basu, and Saif Ali Khan. This film is supposedly meant to demote smoking by showing how horrible it is, and the kind of things it can result in. I think it would've been better if they named it something like 'No Drugs' or 'No Cocaine'. Even better 'Addiction Kills'. The film is more about addiction of any kind than it smoking in particular. And the kind of side-effects depicted seem more look those of other hardcore drugs. There's nothing about the ACTUAL harms of smoking in the film. The kind of things that any smoker could look at and say 'that could happen to me'. I don't think any smoker would think they will go as far as John Abraham with smoking. It's rare and extreme. HOWEVER, the intention is to be applauded, and I hope it succeeds in what it aims to do. That's my 2 cents on the movie itself. Please do tell me if you think otherwise. AND after watching the movie, tell us if it convinced you to quit smoking.

Now let's talk about the music. It's composed by Vishal Bharadwaj. with vocals from Adnan Sami, Sukwinder Singh, and Sunidhi Chauhan to name a few. It's not really extraordinary, but still pretty good. I hope you enjoy it.
