the clash between the Mumbhai Police and five members of gang members. The police squad were lead by inspector Khan (Sanjay Dutt) and the gangsters by Maya (Vivek Oberoi). Other actors who have played major roles in this film are Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Shetty, Arbaaz Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Aarti Chhabria, Rohit Roy, Neha Dhupia, Diya Mirza, Amrita Singh and Abhishek Bachchan. Shootout is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. It is quite a good movie. It is not for you, if you are a little weak in heart because there's quite a lot of blood and death. There is one thing I would like to complain about and that is Tusshar playing Buwa's role. It just doesn't seem right; Buwa in reality was one of the coldest killers and Mr. Kapoor doesn't quite portray that. In fact none of the actors playing the gang members have acted up to the reputation of the actual gangsters, turning them into nicer people instead of the ruthless killers that they were. This probably is an intentional effort by the director, but this results in the viewers sympathizing with the gang members. Anyway, it is a very entertaining film, specially for the fans of the gangsta genre.

Contributions have been made multiple composers/directors in the music department including Anand Raj Anand, Mika, Biddu and Strings. The diversity in music direction and style has played quite well for Shootout. I hope you like it.

Awarapan's music is by Pritam. He's come up with a couple of pretty good songs for this album. Toh Phir Aao and Mahiya sung by Mustafa Zahid and Suzanne respectively are quite good. I hope you enjoy this album.

The image “http://www.planetbollywood.com/Pictures/Posters/Partner/Partner1P.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Based on the Will Smith starring Hollywood film Hitch, Partner features Salman Khan, Govinda, Lara Dutta, and Katrina Kaif in the leading roles. It is directed by David Dhawan. Here Sallu is the 'love guru' which leaves Govinda to be the one who needs a make-over to win one of the leading ladies' heart. It's meant to be a comedy film, and I hope that the makers have loaded it with some nice and smart jokes. We've had a little too much of stupid jokes recently, mostly last year.

The man responsible for the music of Partner is Sajid Wajid. It's a pretty fast-paced and loud album with too much bass. If you have a good sound system, big subs with a good amplifier, you can blow your roof off with these songs. And I think that's all they can do, they're neither lyrically good nor musically exceptional. Just loud and in your face, rather in your ear drums. No award nominations for Wajid this year. Have a listen yourselves, and see what I mean.

Jhoom Barabar Jhoom's music is out and it's great. Shankar Ehsaan Loy have done it again, specially with the Jhoom. JBJ is a film directed by Shad Ali and stars Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta, Bobby Deol and Amitabh Bachchan. Check out the Ticket to Hollywood promo clip and the making-of video of the title song over at Bollywood Unlimited. I like Big B's stunning new outfit. Enough said, enjoy the music.

Cheeni Kum Big B is in love again in love Cheeni Kum with someone a lot younger than himself, Tabu. In fact, in the film Tabu's father (Paresh Rawal) is 6 years his junior. Seems like an interesting story, and hopefully the debutant director R. Balakrishnan does a fine job of telling it.

Music of Cheeni Kum is composed by Ilayaraja. The whole album has a nice slow feel to it, which is great to see after all the fast paced and loud ones released in the past few months. The title songs is very nice and playful. The other songs are pretty good too. I'm sure you're gonna like this one.

Ta Ra Rum Pum is a film Siddharth Anand, director of Salaam Namaste, and stars Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerjee, Jaaved Jaffrey, Shruti Seth and Victor Banerjee. It's about the life a race car driver and his family, how the ups and downs in his career affects his life and family's, and how they tackle the down moments. I think it is to be released on 27th April.

The music of TaRa Rum Pum is by Vishal & Shekhar, who also did Salaam Namaste's music. This is another good addition to their portfolio. This one has a treat for kids which is the title song. The video of it has got some cool animation which kids will love. Hope you like this album.

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is one the most requested albums on DHS, so I thought it's about time post it. It stars Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Mohnish Behl, Renuka Shahane, Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo and Anupam Kher and is directed by Sooraj Barjatya.

Music HAHK is created by Ram Laxman. I personally knew this film due to its song Didi Tera Devar Deewana, which got famous in the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Other famous songs of this film are Joote Do Paise Lo and Wah Wah Ramji. This is one of the best movies (and albums) of the '90s. I hope you like it.

Chandni's songs were requested way back in October last year, and I hope the person who requested gets this. Chandni is a family/romance film by Yash Chopra, and stars Sridevi, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Juhi Chawla and Anupam Kher.

Shiv Hari is the music director for Chandni. I haven't been familiar with his music until now, and to be honest I didn't like the songs of Chandni. I am personally not so much into the late '80s and majority of '90s' music. There are some great songs from every decade that can't be ignored, but I see non of such songs in this album. Surprisingly, Shiv Hari won the best music award at the FilmFare Awards for this film, which means I am wrong and this album is a good one. I hope you like it.

UPDATE: After reading Yashita's comment, I went back and listened to Chandni's songs again, and I would like to say that the songs Chandni O Meri Chandni and Mitwa are great songs. I still stand my opinion about the rest of the songs; they are not so good.

Life In A ... Metro is a film by Anurag Basu and stars Kay Kay Menon, Sharman Joshi, Kangna Ranaut, Shilpa Shetty, Shiny Ahuja, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irfan Khan.

It's a pretty normal sounding album by Pritam, with some good and some not so good songs. Not in the level of Pritam's previous albums such as Gangster, Woh Lamhe, or Dhoom 2. Still worth listening though.

The Train
The Train stars Emraan Hashmi, Geeta Basra and Sayali Bhagat and is directed by Raksha Mistry and Hasnain S Hyderabadwala.

The music is Train is directed by a first-timer, Mithoon. It is a pretty good album considering it is Mr. Mithoon's debut both as a singer and music director. There is no doubt that Mithoon has a great voice and is a wonderful singer. Hope to see more of him in the future. I hope you enjoy this album, cheers.

Kya Love Story HaiKya Love Story Hai is a film by Lovely Singh and stars Abhay Deol Tusshar Kapoor and Ayesha Takia. Kareena Kapoor also guest appreas somewhere in the movie. I have no info about the story of this film, except that it is love story (Dah!).

Music of KLSH is composed by Pritam. There are quite a few good songs in this album. I personally like It's Rocking sung by Alisha and Gumsum Hai Dil Mera sung Sonu Nigam. There's been quite a lot of buzz about Pritam plagiarizing other artists' works. Let's hope there's nothing like that in this album, and that it's all his own work.

Nishabd It's time to catch up with the new releases! The first of the lot is Nishabd, a film by Ram Gopal Verma starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jia Khan in her debut role. As the tagline of the movie says, Nishabd is about the love story of a 60-year-old married man (Amitabh) and a 18-year-old girl (Jia). Despite its bad boxoffice results, the actors' performances have been praised by most. I have yet to watch the film myself, however, after reading Velu's great review I can't wait to watch it.

I have listened to the music though. There are only two new songs in this album; Rozana and Take Lite, sung by the lead actors themselves. They are both lovely songs, I love them. The other 10 songs are from previous movies/albums; e.g. Chali Chali Phir Chali, Main Yahan Tu Wahan and Meri Makhna are from Baghban (2003), Chod Na Re is from Kaante (2002), Come On Come On is from Baabul (2006), etc. Enjoy!

Btw, the original score of Nishabd is by Vishal Bharadwaj and Amar Mohile.

Eklavya - The Royal Guard is another of this year's Amitabh Bachchan starrers. Other casts alongside Big B include Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Vidya Balan, Jimmy Shergill and Sharmila Tagore. It's a film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the man who previously brought us great movies like Parineeta (producer and writer), Munna Bhai M.B.B.S (producer and writer), Mission Kashmir (director, producer and writer) and many more hits. Looking at Mr. Chopra's successful history, one would automatically expect Eklavya to be a fine movie as well, and that is exactly the kind of words posted about it all over the internet. It's all praises, and nothing else.

Music of Eklavya is created by Shantanu Moitra. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to enjoy the songs yet (or despise them for that matter), so I would love to know your thoughts about them.

On a side note, I think Eklavya's online marketing team have done one really cool thing, and that is beside creating an official website for the film, they have also used a blog here on Blogger/Blogspot to promote it. At first, it was director Sanjay Jha (Strings), then SRK blogging about KBC, and now it's the Eklavya team. Awsome!! If you don't have one yet, then I suggest you should start one as well, 'cause it is such a wonderful medium for connecting to others and communicating with the world. With all that said, I hope you like the following songs. Enjoy!

Hattrick
In Hattrick Rimi Sen, Kunal Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar and Dany Dengzongpa are brought together under the direction of Milan Luthria to create a comedy movie set during the 2007 Cricket World Cup. The most promising performance of film, I think, is Nana Patekar's, who did a similarly stunning job in Luthria's previous film Taxi No 9211. But that's yet to be seen.

Once again Pritam has done a superb job with this album. With the fast paced and high energy songs of Hattrick, Pritam is determined to get even the laziest of us to get off our butts and get moving. The songs I enjoyed most is Rabba Khair Kare, it's really cool. Do let me know what you think of this album.

Sarhad Paar - A New Dawn is a recently released patriotic film by Raman Kumar and stars Sanjay Dutt, Chandrachur Singh, Mahima Chaudhary, Tabu and Rahul Dev. It hasn't seen much of a success in the BoxOffice so far, as the Movie Toic guys would put it, "Paisa Barbaad"!

The music director of Sarhad Paar is Anand Raj Anand. I found it to be a pretty average album, the best song being BLABLAH. Don't hasitate to tell me us what you think. I hope you like the songs.

While you are still in the mood for patriotic songs (even though the previous one didn't have many) here is another one. 1971 is a film set during/right after (not sure :D) the 1971 war between India and Pakistan, and it is about the struggle of a group of Indian prisoners who are escaping the Pakistani camp. 1971 stars Manoj Bajpai, Chittaranjan Giri, Deepak D, Kumud Mishra, Manav Kaul and Ravi Kishan. The director of the film is Amrit Sagar.

Akash Sagar is the music director. Since I haven't had a chance to listen to the songs of 1971, I can't say anything about 'em. I hope you you like them enough to share them with others.

Shakalaka Boom Boom is a film directed by Suneel Darshan and stars Kangna Ranaut, Bobby Deol, Upen Patel and Celina Jaitley. The music of the film is by Himesh Reshammiya, who has stated that this film 'would explore his personal life'. It is an exaggerated version of his real life struggles in the music industry and his love story. Check out SBB's official website for more details on the story and a couple of trailers.

Since this film is about himself, I was hoping that Mr. Reshammiya would be passionate about it and create something better than his usual stuff. Unfortunately, I was disappointed; he doesn't give a @#$% about it. Don't get me wrong, the music is better than most of what we've been thrown at in 2007. I personllay think the only good thing in this film is Kangna Ranaut. I haven't been a fan of neither Bobby Deol and nor Celina Jaitly (she is hot though :p). Upen? He is too new to have an opinion about. Don't let me discourage you, go ahead download and listen to the songs and make up your own minds. I sure do hope you aren't like me, and that you will like the songs :p.

Vishal and Shekhar who previously brought us great music in the forms of Bluffmaster, Zinda, and Salaam Namaste's songs are back with Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. which I think is a fine album once again. I love the songs Jaane Hai Woh Kaha and Pyaar Ki Yeh Kahani. Though not lyrically exceptional, these songs are pleasant to listen to. Specially Pyaar Ki Yeh Kahani's got this special cool sorta vibe.

This film is directed by Reema Kagti and stars a host actors including Amisha Patel, Kay Kay Menon, Shabana Azmi, Sandhya Mridul, Boman Irani, Diya Mirza, Abhay Deol, Minissha Lamba, Raima Sen, Ranvir Shorey, Karan Khanaa, Vikram Chatwal, Naseeruddin Shah and Arjun Rampal for the major roles. Himesh Reshammiya has sworn not to leave us alone. He's back with his new filmi album Namastey London, which has quite an unusual number of songs for a Hindi Film, 17. This time around he's come up with a new type of remix songs - Mehfil Remix. I honestly haven't listened to any of the songs, and I'm quite hasitant to do so. My brain's been developing this anti-Himesh filter. I automatically get into a 'not interested' mode everytime I come across one of his albums.

Namastey London stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Upen Patel, Rishi Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh and Javed Shaikh and is directed by Vipul Shah.

Delhi Heigts marks the entrance of Rabbi Shergill into Bollywood as a music director. Despite being new to Bollywood, Rabbi has been a pretty famous figure in the music industry as a singer (according Wikipedia, I knew nothing about him before this). He is been particularly creadited for his deep and philosophical lyrics. His music is inspired by rock, as well as Sufi and Punjabi folk music. He can be seen behind Jimmy Shergill in this screenshot of Delhi Heights. You can read a lot of his lyrics (with English translation, yay!) and other info about him at Rabbism.

The film itself is directed by Anand Kumar and stars Jimmy Shergill, Neha Dhupia, Om Puri, Rohit Roy, Simone Singh, Vivek Shauq and Kamini Khanna. Hope you like the songs.

P.S. Does anyone know if Jimmy and Rabbi Shergill are related? Anyone knows that?

No, this is not the TV reality(?) show Big Brother. This is the movie Big Brother, starring our very own angry-super-powerful Sunny Deol opposite the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra. The film is directed by Guddu Dhanoa and music is by Anand Raj Anand and Sandesh Shandilya.

I did like the first of the Jag Lal Lal Lal's, however, not the rest of the songs. I didn't dislike them by any means, but don't think so high of them either. They are just mediocre, which is to be expected of such a masale-dar film (I hope I used that term correctly:p). I think the only good thing they have done in this movie is that they've given the ladies at Bollywood Fugly somethings to talk about :)

Here are the songs of the much talked about Shahrukh Khan and Kajol starrer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. It is produced by Yash Chopra and directed by his son Aditya Chopra. The cast of DDLJ also includes Anupam Kher, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Parmeet Sethi, Satish Shah, and Mandira Bedi.

DDLJ is one of the most successful films of Bollywood. This film holds the record for longest-running initial release in Indian cinema. It played for over 500 weeks (1995-2005) at the Maratha Mandir theater in Mumbai, more than twice as many weeks as Sholay. DDLJ has won 8 Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress. Two more interesting points about DDLJ are: Karan Johar made his acting debut in this film, and it was released on the 25th anniversary of Yash Raj Films.

The music of the film is by Jatin Lalit. The songs are great (according to many :p), but I personally am not into the '90s music. Don't get me wrong, there are some that I love more than any but these songs are not among them. Btw, this album has been requested many many times through emails and comments. Thanks to all who did so, I hope you find your way back here to download and enjoy the songs.

Tere Naam Tere Naam is a film directed by Satish Kaushik and stars Salman Khan and Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles. As the tagline of the film says, it is based on a true love story which hell of a love story. It has a pretty depressing ending, unlike most other love stories. In this film, we get to see Salman Khan with both long hair (a wig :p) and bald.

Suprisingly, Himesh Reshammiya is the music director of Tere Naam. Lucky for us that he wasn't singing a lot (or at all) at the time or else it wouldn't be such a good album.

This album was Anuj and a few anonymous visitors, here it is guys. Enjoy everybody!

Pardes Also requested multiple times by our visitors are the songs of this film, Pardes. It stars Shahrukh Khan, Mahima Chaudhary, Apoorva Agnihotri, Alok Nath and Amrish Puri and is directed by Subhash Ghai. This film is one of my favorite, mainly because of it's songs. Pardes is Mahima Chaudhary's debut film, whose real name is Ritu Chaudhary. Ghai made her change it to something starting with M as he thinks it is lucky for him. He had previously launched Madhuri Dixit and Manisha Koirala, and hence the 'M superstition'.

One stunning fact about Mahima is that she was chosen from 3000 people who auditioned for her role in Pardes. And she did a fantastic job, I don't think anyone could have done it better. She won the Bestcomer's award that year for this role.

As I said before, I like this film mainly because of its great music which is directed by Nadeem Sharavan. Here is your chance to them songs as well. Thanks to those who requested this album.

The first entry for 2007 is Mr. Hot Mr. Kool which is very unlikely to be either. Starring Zulfi Syed, Yash Pandit, Samiksha, Priya, Mushtaq Khan, Hemant Pandey, Kishore and Shahbaaz Khan, MHMK is directed by Partho Gosh. Music is by Rishi Sundd. I know nothing more about the film or the music, except that it's songs are ready for your downloading pleasure :)

Our second entry of 2007 is Just Married (also called Honeymoon on many news websites) starring Fardeen Khan,Esha Deol, Bikram Saluja,Perizaad Zorabian,Yashpal Sharma Sadia Siddiqui,Satish Shah and Kirron Kher. It is director Meghna Gulzar's second film. Just Married is supposedly a comedy movie about a newly wed couple played by Fardeen and Esha (similar to the 2003 Hollywood film with the same title starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy).

Music of Just Married is directed by Pritam Chakraborty who has made some great music in the past. This album sounded pretty good too at the first go. I hope you like it as well.

Nehle Pe Dehla is a comedy movie by Ajay Chandok which stars Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Kim Sharma, Shakti Kapoor, Mukesh Rishi, Aasif Shaikh and Shiva. Multiple music directors have collaborated to create the music of Nehle Pe Dehla. These directors include Daboo Malik, Himesh Reshammiya, Nikhil Vinay, Nitin Shankar and Anand Raj Anand. The song Dil Naiyyo Maane Re by Himesh is featured in two previous movies already, in Ahista Ahista and Phir Hera Pheri.

This film portrays Sanjay and Saif as small time crooks who dream of doing big stuff and becoming rich. You can watch a short promo video for this film over at Muvie Geek's place. I hope you like the following songs. You can let us know what you think by posting a comment to this entry. Cheers:)

Red - The Dark Side is a film directed by Vikram Bhatt. It stars Aftab Shivdasani, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Sushant Singh. The trailer seems pretty intense and I think Aftab is doing a role in this film similar to what he did in Kasoor, or maybe not, I'm just guessing based on what I saw in the trailer.

Unfortunately, the music director of Red is Himesh Reshammiya who has once again sung (almost) all the songs himself. This is his first album of 2007, and I'm sure there are a lot more to come.

Shamir Tandon, Raju Singh, Kailash Kher, Jagjit Singh, Sandesh Shandilya, Hardip Sidhu and Prempal Hans; that's quite a lot of names, don't you think? These are names of the music directors who have who have lent their musical talents to create the soundtrack of Traffic Signal. There is even a song by the late Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (who was undoubtedly one of the best singers ever).

Traffic Signal is a film by Madhur Bhandkar and stars Neetu Chandra, Kunal Khemu, Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey. The songs of TS are great and I hope that the film will be just as good if not better. The promos seem quite good. Enjoy the songs for now though.

Anwar is a film directed by Manish Jha (any relations to our Sanjay Jha??) and stars Siddarth Koirala as Anwar as well as Manisha Koirala, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz and Nauheed Cyrusi in other major roles.

Music of Anwar is directed by Pankaj Awasthi and Mithoon. I hope you like the songs. It's been quite a while since my last post, and the reason for that is my new job. It is really tiring and the shift timings are different, so I guess it will take me a while to get used to it and make some time for blogging. Enough said. Enjoy the music.

Salaam-e-Ishq Salaam-E-Ishq is a star packed (six couples. twelve lives.) directed by the man who brought us one of most loved movies of 2003, Kal Ho Na Ho, the one and only Nikhil Advani. It's his second film so far, and from all it's star power, you can only guess that Salaam-E-Ishq is going to do very well in the box-office. But how good a movie it is, is yet to be seen. The cast of SEI includes Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, John Abraham, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Juhi Chawla, Govinda, Isha Koppikar, Shannon Esrechowitz, Sohail Khan, Karan Johar (!?) and Anjana Sukhani. Wow!

The music of this film is given by the guys who rocked the world with Don's music earlier this, Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The music is great, very playful and as usual they will rock ya! Enjoy!

Khujli - Sab Ko HaiAlso known as Mr. Khujli (but I prefer Khujli - Sab Ko Hai :D) is an upcoming movie starring the recent years' Johnny Lever (some of you might disagree with that, I somehow find him funnier than Johnny), the one and only Rajpal Yadav as well as Vrajesh Hirjee, Mohit Daga and Loveleena Tetarbe. It is a movie by Raj Sippy. There isn't much of the budget spent on the music department (I guess) handled by the music directors Deepak Pandit and Prem Paras. But I hope they have a good script and storyline for Rajpal. I would love to watch this one 'cause I haven't laughed much lately.

Set for release this December, Baabul is a movie which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, John Abraham and Om Puri. It's a film by Ravi Chopra. If you want to know the storyline, go to IndiaFM for nice little description. I think the story of Baabul has been told many many times before in previous Hindi movies. Hope it has some interesting twists in story that make it different from all the others, otherwise I don't think it will be a fun movie.

The music of Baabul is the creation of Aadesh Shrivastava. Some songs are pretty cool, my personal favorite is 'Come On Come On'. Enjoy!
